Edibar Systems, Inc. originated in 1982 as Bar Code Solutions, Inc., specializing in bar code label printing and scanning software development. Close to 30 years later, Edibar has kept the same ideals of printing and scanning of bar code labels, while adding numerous applications and services to its suite of products.

Edibar has been a member of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) since 1984. Wayne Metcalfe, President of Edibar Systems, has served on such work groups as AIAG's Automatic Identification Data Collection (AIDC), Returnable Container Identification (RFRC), and Radio Frequency Identification (RF).
